About KitKraft

In 2018 our co-founder Mariam Sheikh was buying a Wüsthof chef's knife on Daraz for PKR 24,000. The same knife was PKR 9,500 at Sharaf DG in Dubai. Mariam knew — she had run the kitchenware category at Daraz Pakistan for four years — that the markup wasn't fraud, it was friction. Small importers, payment delays, no warranty pass-through, no authorised distribution. She also knew that the steel in some Wüsthof handles is rolled in Sialkot.

She and her elder brother Yasir wrote a one-page memo on a Friday in November: "What if we ran the kitchen aisle of Pakistan like a real category — proper distribution deals, real warranty fulfilment, half the price, and we shelve the local makers next to the imports so customers can choose?" Mariam left Daraz that month. Yasir left MakroHabib. The Gulberg flagship opened in February 2019. The other four stores followed.

We are 71 people now. We carry fourteen brands. We honour every warranty at every door.

Leadership

Mariam Sheikh
Co-founder & Managing Director

Mariam ran the kitchenware and home-essentials category at Daraz Pakistan from 2014 to 2018, after a BSc Economics at LSE. She left Daraz the day a Wüsthof chef's knife she had on her wishlist for PKR 24,000 listed at PKR 9,500 in Sharaf DG Dubai — and decided to do something about it. She still answers Mariam@kitkraft.pk personally.

Yasir Sheikh
Co-founder & Chief Operating Officer

Mariam's elder brother. Began at MakroHabib in 2012, ran their Lahore Cantt store from 2015 to 2018. He owns the supply chain — every container that lands at Karachi port, every Sialkot vendor relationship, every store rota.

Ayesha Tanveer
Head of Buying

Joined from Hyperstar Pakistan in 2021. Cooks weekly on her own YouTube channel "Ayesha's Tawa" (47k subscribers). She reads the catalogue with a cook's hands — if a knife is listed, she has chopped onions with it.

Iftikhar Lateef
Head of Stores

Twenty-eight years in PIA cabin services, retired 2017. Joined KitKraft to run the Karachi opening in 2021, now oversees the five-store operation. Knows every regular customer's name in DHA Phase 6.
